Manipulating SATA commands directly with X1009

  • Hey,

We would like to build a device which acts as a middle-man to a harddrive. This involves reading SATA commands from a host computer, performing some logic on the commands, and sending our own custom commands to a SATA device.

Is this something that would be possible with the X1009? Perhaps we could write our own firmware to implement these details, or integrate with your existing firmware. Effectively, we need a way to manipulate SATA commands directly.

  • The feasibility of using the X1009 for your project depends on its firmware flexibility and access to low-level SATA command handling. If the X1009 allows custom firmware development or provides an API for intercepting and modifying SATA commands, it could work as a middle-man device. You may need detailed documentation or direct support from the manufacturer to ensure it meets your requirements. Have you checked whether the X1009 supports transparent command interception and modification?
