X1301 Stopped Working

  • My X1301 which worked well for about a month stopped working, and no longer visible as a mediaX device with "v4l2-ctl --list-devices". It's not listed via "media-ctl -p" either. I made sure the the /boot/firmware/config.txt is still populated correctly.

I think I do see it with "i2cdetect -y 11" but nothing helps bring it back. This may have happened after the latest rpi firmware update. Any ideas?

  • Hello

This is a kernel issue, please wait for an update from Raspberry Pi fundation. Other buyers have reported the same issue. Please refer to Cannot open device /dev/video0 on Pi 5 HDMI to CSI (TC358743):

It is not recommended that you update the OS in the future.

  • Thank you so much for providing that link. For the time being, the recommendation to "sudo rpi-update pulls/6795" seems to have worked to resolve my issue. The inability to update the OS is not ideal however for security reasons.
