Stacking boards of different sizes

  • Has anyone been able to stack the X828 2.5 SSD board on top of the X835 3.5 HDD board?

  • @William Shelnut can't speak on the 835, I just got my boards yesterday and I had to get creative using both an 828 and a 750 on my pi 4Pi4/x828/x750

  • Thanks for the pic, right now i'm just waiting for the new X835 to arrive. My Pi4 system is stacked from bottomto top as follows X828 (1Ea) (and 1 Waiting for new SSD) then the PI 4 then the X735 power management module.

  • @William Shelnut Don't use X835 with X828, they use the different voltage, please refer to Power Requirement

  • @William Shelnut You can use multi X835 board to stack them, we don't announce that X835 is stackable because we are customizing the USB 3 cable ^_^, in fact, X835 is stackable. BUT you need to DIY the metal case you use multi X835 boards.

  • Just recieved my board X835. none of the holes line up. with the X828, I got some plexiglass that i can make an adapter for it. Has anyone try to run the stack with X828's with the X735 power management, the power management module will power the PI and the 2ea X828's. The X835 needs the 12v supply and will be joining the stack with the USB3 cable. the only concern i have is the 2 powered USB3 connected together. will this cause a confict in the USBs?
