Don't recognize / boot from NVME SSD for X1004

  I have a Raspberry Pi5 with latest Trixie and latest bootloader (20260303), attached a x1004. I can not boot from an SSD attached to the x1004. Tried 3 SSDs, Samsung 980, Samsung 990Pro and Lexar 790. Bootorder is set to PCIe NVME -> USB -> SDcard. "lspci" does not see the HAT/SSD.

  For the Lexar 790 I found that it might use a Phison controller, so it might not be compatible.

  I have a 2nd Pi5 with the X1001 and it boots from all SSDs mentioned above.

   What else to check?
