Hi all,
I just wanted to share my experience and experimentation with an X1003.
I have tried multiple NVME drives with the X1003 and most were problematic. My benchmark drive was a WD SN530, which is reported to work and does not have a phison controller.
I tried two different x1003's and the results were the same. The Pi 5 can read the NVME, and clone the CD card to the SSD without any issues; however, it is unable to boot into the SSD and gives an 'unable to open the NVME' error message when trying to boot.
Where it get interesting is that I tried a different PCIe ribbon cable, and the drive booted perfectly.
I had the same results using a Samsung PM981 and an Integral drive too.
