X883 + X735 issues


  • I had both of these working fine, built a raid mirror, modified FSTAB to make sure the array booted everytime and got the root account is locked error. Attempts to repair failed so I reloaded the operating system to try again and the pi only sees one drive sda, no sdb. After trying several different things, including checking both HD lights were blue on X883. I swapped drives on X883 to still only have sda showing up. Most things suggest a dead drive nut after ruling that out, I'm stumped beyond a possibility that X883 has failed.

    Please test X883 without X735, please use USB cable to test HDD1, HDD2 respectively.

  • @Lisa ZHANG So I ordered a replacement from Amazon that finally arrived. I reassembled the new unit and still have the same problem. Do you think it is worth reloading Raspian and trying again?

  • @Lisa ZHANG I don't have the equipment to take a video but I can tell you that I formated one drive and labeled it so that I could tell after switching locations if it was a drive issue or if there is some sort of communication issue either between the USB3 ports and the HDD or something with the board. After labeling it I swapped drives and it only sees the non-formated drive.
