Dear Customer,
Thank you for choosing DHL Express. We would like to take this opportunity to share some important information regarding shipments to the United States. This information concerns shipments with a declared value exceeding USD 800 and may impact your shipping plans.
In accordance with a recent Executive Order issued by the U.S. President, shipments sent to the United States from around the world with a declared value over USD 800 are now subject to stricter entry regulations. Under the latest provisions of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), shipments that previously qualified for informal clearance (valued between USD 800 and USD 2,500) must now go through formal customs clearance. This requires the shipper to provide a detailed description of the goods, the 10-digit U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code, the country of origin (COO), and the recipient’s Employer Identification Number (EIN) (if the recipient is a business) or Social Security Number (SSN) (if the recipient is an individual).
Due to these changes, the volume of formal entries has increased significantly. Although we are making every effort to manage the surge, shipments with a declared value over USD 800 may still experience multi-day delays in transit.
To maintain the quality of our service, we have made the decision to temporarily suspend service for B2C shipments (where the recipient is an individual in the U.S.) with a declared value over USD 800, starting from April 21, 2025, until further notice.
Please note that shipments valued under USD 800 are not affected by this suspension. B2B shipments (where the recipient is a U.S. business) will continue to be accepted, though they may still encounter delays — we appreciate your understanding.
